I wanted to share a personal journey that is really amazing and touched my heart - The Blackout Darkness Retreat!

One day, I spoke with my coach, whose story reminded me of a friend from CEO Space, a concussion specialist for athletes. He shared from his research that many of us are walking around with concussions we have had for years, even decades, but never know it. I immediately asked him how someone would "Cure it." His work showed complete darkness for 2-3 days while giving the brain complete rest without stimulation is the reset for the brain and body. Initially, I was a little apprehensive, but I decided to go for it.

The retreat was a 3-night experience where I was completely cut off from all light and sound. I spent 55 hours in complete darkness. This includes blacking out windows, no electronics, the glow of any kind (even a tiny keychain flashlight), and I always wore an eye mask.

To see the world as it really is, you need to go into darkness. In this way of experiencing things for yourself and coming back with a new perspective on life in general - below are some lessons I learned that will help me moving forward that I would like to share:

The darkness seems to heighten all of my senses, I feel as if colors are more vivid, sounds louder and clearer than ever before- even smells reach deep within me!

I spend too much time on technology and want to move to more conversation than emails and texts.

When developing your own psychic abilities, a part of the body is known as "the crown chakra" that is located at the top of your head that is associated with higher consciousness spirituality. During the retreat, I found it interesting, and at first, I thought it was my third eye but after playing with it, I realized it was not. When I put on a hat, it increased the dark experience. Made everything appear darker than without.

Floods of memories and awareness when I stopped myself from expressing myself or physical fears like claustrophobia. When I felt anxious, I asked, "What am I so afraid of?" wow, this was big.

I realized I had years of sadness and kept too busy to feel complete?the power of the pause allowed for deep cleansing of my heart and a new beginning.

The best part is a beautiful metaphor as I started coming back into the light, seeing how even minor lights can be pathways to see what's in front of us.

I get to be the light, the truth-seeker, and the trailblazer to help create an inspirational path for others who choose play.

I highly recommend this experience for anyone seeking personal growth and a way to connect with oneself on a deeper level. If you are interested in learning more about the Blackout Darkness Retreat, please reply with any thoughts or questions.
